| Exporting Processes to Other Environments > Creating an archive file | |||
You create an archive file as the first step in exporting a process from one environment to another (that is, from one LiveCycle ES server to another).
If you are creating an archive that you intend to import into a system where you have already imported the an earlier version of the same process, you must create a new version of the process before you create the archive. This is necessary because to import an archive, the version of the process must differ from the currently deployed process.
Note: When a process that references locked resources is added to a LiveCycle archive (LCA), the resources remain locked when the LCA file is imported into a different LiveCycle ES environment. Only the user who locked the file, or users who are assigned the Super Administrator or Resource Administrator, can unlock the resources.
To create an archive file:
to browse to the location and specify the name of the archive. The archive file is saved in the specified location. You can use LiveCycle Administration Console to import it into another server.
