| Exporting Processes to Other Environments > Archive files | |||
An archive file is a compressed file that contains the process diagram, forms, custom components, services, and associated resources (such as fragments and image files) that are required to use the process in another environment. The services installed with LiveCycle ES (such as the User service and the Forms service) are not included in the archive because these services are expected to be present in the destination environment.
The latest revision of each resource used in a process, based on each resource's time stamp, is included in the archive. Therefore, if a resource has changed but you need to create a new archive that uses the original version of the resource, you should first create a new version of the process and use a copy of the original resource with a different name.
The file name extension of an archive is .lca.
