When the execute operation from the Stall service is used, the branch to which it belongs is stalled. Execute operations are useful for preventing implementation errors that you anticipate may occur. If you are aware of a possible situational error in your process, you can add a route that leads to an execute operation. Then, you can add a rule to the route that checks whether the situational error has occurred.
For example, processes can use data that is provided from an external resource, such as a partner's database. The executeScript operation (from the Execute Script service) can be used to verify that the data is valid. If the data is not valid, the Execute operation from the Stall service can be used, which stalls the process instance while the data in the database is corrected.
