Exporting and importing process versions

You export and import process versions for creating backup copies and sharing existing work.

Export a process version and import a process version to move only the process version to another server. The process version is shared as an XML file, which contains only the process definition. Any associated forms must be manually exported and imported (see Exporting process versions and Importing process versions).

It is recommended that you move your processes by creating a LiveCycle ES archive file, but you may want to export and import on the process version for the following reasons:

You can export and import processes that are not activated.
You only want to move the process version, not the associated assets.
You can only import one archive file of the same name for a process. You may want to import several process versions.
