Configuring task completion options

You can initialize tasks with route names so that Workspace ES users are presented with options that determine the next route to follow when they complete tasks. For each route that follows the Assign Task operation, a completion option is presented:

If you initialize the task with route names, you should use route names that are meaningful to the user.

The way that submission options are presented depends on the type of form that is being used:

You can specify that the user must select an option to complete the task. However, when a Flex application or form guide is used as the form, users must always select an option.

Note:   The form may require the Process Fields object to display the task completion options. For more information, see "Preparing form designs for LiveCycle Process Management ES" in LiveCycle Designer ES Help.

Tip:   When only one route follows an Assign Task operation, in Workspace ES the user must click the Complete button to submit the task. A green check mark appears on the Complete button only if the user must fill a form and save it to complete the task.

To configure mandatory route selection by the user to complete a task and a route priority:

  1. Select the Assign Task operation in the process diagram and, in the Properties view, click the Routes And Priority category.
  2. In the Routes and Priority list, select either Literal Value or XPath Expression.
  3. If you selected Literal Value in step step 2., select Initialize Task With Route Names to have the submission option determine the next route to follow.
  4. If you selected Literal Valuein step step 2., select User Must Select A Route To Complete This Task to specify that the user must select a submission option.
  5. If you selected XPath Expressionin step step 2., specify an XPath expression that evaluates to a variable of type Task Routes and Priority.
