Creating process versions from existing process versions

You can create a process version by copying any existing process version. This is useful when you want to create a copy of an existing process version to make small changes without having to redraw the entire process diagram. For example, you can copy an existing process verision to make changes to it.

When a process version is created, Workbench  ES provides a version number or the process version directly in the name.

Note:   A newly created process version remains locked after you close it. You must unlock the process version to allow others to modify it.

To create a process version from an existing process version:

  1. In the Processes view, right-click the process you want to create a process for and select New Version.
  2. In the New Process Version dialog box, select Copy An Existing Process and click Next.
  3. (Optional) In the Major Version box and Minor Version box, type a number to specify each of these versions.

Note:   The default version provided is the latest version with the minor version increased by one. For example, if you are importing a new version and the most recent process version is 8.3, the new default major version is 8 and minor version is 4.

  4. Click Browse.
  5. In the Select Process To Copy dialog box, navigate through available processes, select a process version, and then click OK.

Note:   When a process version is selected, the OK button becomes available.

  6. Click Finish.
