Importing your application

You must use Archive Administration to import an application into another environment. Archive Administration is accessed by logging in to LiveCycle Administration Console. The user profile that you use must be assigned either the Application Administrator or Super Administrator role.

To log in to the LiveCycle Administration Console:

  1. In the URL line of a web browser, type http://[server]:[port]/adminui (where [server] represents the network name of the LiveCycle ES server and [port] represents port number of the application server). For example, on the computer where you installed LiveCycle ES using the turnkey method, in the URL line of the web browser, type http://localhost:8080/adminui. The Administration login prompt appears.
  2. Press Enter.
  3. In the User Name box, type kvarsen and, in the Password box, type password, and then click Login.

Note:   If you or your administrator have assigned a different user profile to access the LiveCycle Administration Console, type your assigned user ID and password.

You have logged in to the LiveCycle Administration Console.

To access Archive Administration:

  1. On the LiveCycle Administration Console Home page, click Services.
  2. On the Services page, click Archive Administration.

You have accessed Archive Administration.

To import your archive file using Archive Administration:

  1. In Archive Administration, click Archive Management.
  2. On the Archive Management page, click Import.
  3. On the Archive Import page, click Browse. The Choose File dialog box appears.
  4. Browse to the location where the MortgageLoanAppEx.lca file was saved, select the MortgageLoanAppEx.lca file, and click Open.
  5. On the Archive Import page, click Preview.
  6. On the Archive Preview page, verify the list of resources and objects, and then click Import.
  7. On the Import Results page, verify that resources were imported, and click OK
  8. Click Logout.

You have imported your application as an archive file into another environment. You are now ready to configure your service.

When I followed the instructions, I received the following message. I think it may be because the process was still open in Workbench ES.

Error importing archive: 'Invocation error. Caused by: com.adobe.repository.RepositoryException: ALC-REP-016-000: Resource [urn:uuid:id:272d4351-937a-48bc-8ea1-7b2d863b3857] is locked by user [D88736FB-D213-AD93-A514-A1EB530C0B71].'

I believe the error is thrown because you are importing the archive file into the same environment in which you created it. Importing the archive attempts to overwrite a resource that is locked - probably the form file (resources can be locked/unlocked on the Resources view).

An earlier topic (http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/es/wb_help/00000457.html) has a note that says "You do not need to follow the tasks in this section [i.e. Importing your application] if you are working in the same environment that you are planning to use for your application."

I think this note is not adequate to explain/prevent the circumstance that caused your error to be thrown.

Thanks for your feedback, the Help will be improved because of it.
