Editing captions in your form design

You may notice that the captions for the fields you dragged onto your form design are already predefined in a user-friendly manner. This is not always the case because most schema files are created based on a table in a database. Names from a database are okay for a person who is familiar with the database; however, it is not usually the text you want to display to the person filling your form.

You will now edit some of the captions. Editing captions does not affect the binding names.

To modify the caption of a field:

  1. In the Hierarchy palette, select Term.
  2. In the Object palette, click the Field tab and, in the Caption box, type Term (Years).
  3. Save the form design.

You have modified a caption in your form design.
