About the Component Manager and Service Registry Services

The Component Manager service enables you to perform tasks such as deploying and removing components. This service exposes an API for managing components. For example, using this API, you can deploy a component. (See Deploying Components.)

Note:  You cannot invoke operations that belong to the Component Manager service by using web services.

The Service Registry service enables you to perform tasks such as starting and stopping services. This service exposes an API for managing services. For example, using this API, you can start a service. (See Starting Services.)
