About the Application Manager Service
A LiveCycle application (LCA) is defined as a collection of one or more services, processes, and resources that can be imported and exported from LiveCycle ES. A LiveCycle application is saved as a LCA file, which is known as a compressed archive format. An LCA archive is a zip-compressed collection of application components with an application descriptor that declares its contents.
The Application Manager Service manages applications by performing operations such as importing, exporting, retrieving, and deleting applications. The Application Manager service exposes a public API for managing applications. For example, using the Application Manager API, you can import an application. (See Importing Applications.)
