| Exporting Processes and Resources > Avoiding socket timeouts when creating archives | |||
Socket timeouts can occur when adding many or large resources and processes to an archive. Create archives asynchronously if socket timeouts occur when creating or updating archives.
When you create archives, Workbench ES opens a connection to the LiveCycle ES server. The default behavior is to maintain the connection while the archive is created. If the connection is open for too long, a socket timeout can occur. The amount of time required to cause a socket timeout depends on the server configuration.
When creating archives asynchronously, the connection is closed after Workbench ES sends the request to the LiveCycle ES server to create the archive. Another connection is opened when the LiveCycle ES server notifies Workbench ES that the archive is created.
To create archives asynchronously:The workbench.ini file is located in the [install directory]/Adobe/LiveCycle ES/Workbench ES/Workbench directory, where [install directory] is the location where you installed Workbench ES.
