User permissions

To log into Workbench ES, your user account needs to be assigned specific permissions. User accounts that are assigned either the Application Administrator, Process Administrator, or Resource Administrator roles can log into Workbench ES.

The following table describes other permissions that these roles provide that are relevant to Workbench ES users.

Application Administrator

Use all Workbench ES features.

Use LiveCycle Administration Console (Applications and Services pages) to configure service run-time properties, endpoints, and security.

Process Administrator

Use Workbench ES features that enable you to create processes:

  • Install and uninstall components.
  • Create event types.
  • See a list of recorded process instances and play them.
  • View and open resources in the Resources view.
  • Start and stop services, and activate and deactivate processes.
  • Open process versions for reading and editing.
  • Create new processes.
  • Delete processes and process versions.
  • Invoke services.
  • Lock and unlock processes in the Processes view.

Use LiveCycle Administration Console (Applications and Services pages) to add and remove service endpoints.

Resource Administrator

Use Workbench ES features that enable you to create forms:

  • Set access permissions on resources in the Resources view.
  • View, open and save resources in the Resources view.
  • Open process versions for reading.
  • Invoke services.

To simply view the contents of the Resources view and open files for viewing, your user account requires the following permissions:
