Creating folders and resources

You can use the Resources view to create or add folders and resources to the repository. Create folders to organize the resources according to your needs.

The names of resources created within the repository preserve their case. You cannot create multiple objects with names that differ only by case. For example, the names "abc", "Abc" and "ABC" all refer to the same underlying resource.

Caution:   Resource paths cannot exceed 255 characters. Attempting to create a resource that has more than 255 characters in the path causes an error.

Resource paths include the entire path where resources are cached on the computer where Workbench ES is installed:

[install location]\Adobe\LiveCycle ES\Workbench ES\Workbench\workspace\[path in Resources view]

For example, a file named form1.xdp is stored in the localhost/forms folder of the Resources view. Workbench ES is installed in the C:\Program Files folder. The form1.xdp file has the following path:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\LiveCycle ES\Workbench ES\Workbench\workspace\localhost\forms\form1.xdp

Note:   When you add a resource or a folder, it inherits the access permissions of the folder to which it is added.

To create a folder:

  1. In the Resources view, right-click the repository or an existing folder and select New Folder.
  2. In the Folder Name box, type the name of the folder and click OK.

To create a Workbench ES resource:

  1. In the Resources view, right-click anywhere and select New > resource, where resource is one of the choices on the menu.
  2. Depending on the type of resource selected, provide the additional required information.

To add files from outside the repository:
