Managing Resources

In Workbench ES, resources are forms and their related assets (schemas, fragments, images, and so on) used within services. You can manage these resources in the Resources view.

The Resources view is displayed by default for both the LiveCycle Process Design perspective and the LiveCycle Form Design perspective. It contains a hierarchical list of the resources in the repository. In the Resources view, you can browse the resources or do the following actions:

• Open a resource to view or edit it. (See Opening the Resources view.)
• Display a filtered list of resources. (See Filtering resources.)
• Add resources, folders, or files from your local file system or a network location to the Resources view. (See Creating folders and resources.)
• Remove resources. (See Deleting resources.)
• Extract resources from the repository to your local file system or a network location. (See Copying files.)
• Create versions of resources and view the version history. (See Working with file versions.)
• Set access permissions on resources. (See Setting access permissions.)
• Lock and unlock resources. (See Locking and unlocking resources.)
• See the properties of resources. (See Displaying resource properties.)
• View dependencies between resources. (See Viewing resource relationships.)

  Note:   You cannot use software that is external to Workbench ES to edit files that are in the repository. To modify a file, copy it to the local file system and open it with the external software. (See Copying files.) After modifying the file, drag it back to the Resources view. (See Creating folders and resources.)
