Creating Device Profiles

This section describes how to use the Adobe® LiveCycle ES® XDC Editor to create and modify XML Forms Architecture Device Configuration (XDC) files. XDC files describe the capabilities of printers, such as the printer's language or the correlation between paper size and tray location.

The Adobe LiveCycle ES (Enterprise Suite) installation includes several XDC files that describe the more common printers used with the Output service. However, your printers may be configured differently or you may have additional devices that the XDC files, included with LiveCycle ES, do not support. In this case, you can use XDC Editor to create or modify XDC files to meet your requirements.
