Adding event throws, receives, and start points

You can add an event receive, event throw, and event start point to a process diagram.

Note:   You cannot throw exception event types.

For information about configuring events after you add them, see Configuring events to control flow in a process.

To add an event throw, receive, or start point to the process:

  1. Drag the Event modelling element to an unused part of the process diagram.
  2. In the Define Event dialog box, select Select An Event.
  3. Select the event type from the list, and click OK.
  4. In the Select Event Behavior dialog box, click one of the following buttons:

    Note:   You can have more than one event start point in a process diagram; however, you can only specify one event start point for each event type.

  5. (Optional) In the Name box, type a new name to replace the default name.
  6. (Optional) Specify values for the other properties. (See Configuring events to control flow in a process.)
  7. Click OK.

    Tip:   You can also drag an event type from the Events view onto the process diagram.
