| Creating Processes > Adding processes to the Processes view > Creating new processes | |||
Create a process to represent the business process that you are automating. When you create a process, you must specify a unique name and associate it with an existing category. Optionally, you can provide descriptive text and an image that will be used with your process. For example, the image you specify will be displayed in the process cards within LiveCycle Workspace ES. The image formats supported are JPG and PNG.
Tip: It is recommended that you reduce your image to 150 x 150 pixels. You can compress the image without losing quality before you add it to your process using tools such as Adobe ImageReady®. This will optimize the image for use in LiveCycle ES to improve load times and to maximize user experiences. You need to always verify that the images are displayed correctly.
When you create your process, you must associate it with an existing or new category. You can also modify the category that the process is associated with any time after the process is created.
Caution: After a process is created, the name for that process cannot be changed.
Note: A newly created process version remains locked after you close it. You must unlock the process version to allow others to modify it.
To create a process:Note: You can use only JPEG or PNG image files. Images greater than 150 x 150 pixels will be scaled. As a result, images appear distorted.
long-lived: Specifies to store information about process instances in the database.
