Defining operations in your process diagram

You will use operations to define the steps in the process diagram for your process version. Operations can represent the people and the actions involved in your automated process. You will add the following operations in your process diagram to satisfy the established business process:

• An Execute operation to retrieve the data from the form that is used as input into the process
• Two Assign Task operations to involve specific users from Fin@nce Corporation in the process

To define the Execute operation in the process diagram:

1. Select Window > Show View > Services. The Service view appears.
2. In the Services view, select Foundation > Set Value - 1.0.
3. Drag the Execute operation to the upper-left corner of the LOW RISK swimlane.
4. In the Properties view, in the General category, perform the following tasks:
   • In the Name box, type Get Form Information.
   • In the Description box, type Retrieve information from the form and assign values to variables.

To define the Assign Task operations in the process diagram:

1. In the Services view, select Process Management > User - 1.0.
2. Drag two Assign Task operations to these locations in the specified order:
   • Upper-right corner in the LOW RISK swimlane
   • Lower-right corner in the HIGH RISK swimlane
3. In the LOW RISK swimlane, select the AssignTask1 operation and, in the Properties view, in the General category, type the following information:
   • In the Name box, type Loan Officer.
   • in the Description box, type Approver for loans less than $500,000..
4. In the HIGH RISK swimlane, select the AssignTask2 operation and, in the Properties view, in the General category, perform these tasks:
   • In the Name box, type Bank Manager.
   • In the Description box, type Approver for loans $500,000 or more..
5. Save your process version.

You have defined the process diagram for your process version, which should look like this illustration.
