Testing form designs

It is a good idea to test your form before you use it in a process. You will use a sample data file to preview your form when it is merged with data. Testing your form with data is recommended to ensure that it functions as designed.

To test your form design using sample data:

1. Select Edit > Form Properties. The Form Properties dialog box appears.
2. Click the Preview tab.
3. Beside the Data File box, click Browse to find the data file. The Open XML File dialog box appears.
4. Select LiveCycle ES Server > Schemas > loanTestData.xml file and click OK.
5. In the Form Properties dialog box, click OK.
6. Click Preview PDF to see how the form appears when it contains data.

You have created and tested your form design. You can now use it in a process. The following illustration shows how your form looks in Preview PDF.

Before proceeding to the next section in this tutorial, click X on the MortgageAppForm.pdf tab to close the form.
