Adding fields (or form objects) to your form design one at a time requires a series of dragging actions. You will simplify this process by using an imported schema file.
With an imported schema file, you can drag one field or a group of fields onto your form design. The form object that is created is based on the defined data type in the schema file. The additional benefit is that the appropriate form objects are automatically bound to the data source and captions are created based on the element name in the schema. For details about how form objects are created when importing a schema, see LiveCycle Designer ES Help.
You will also need to embed the schema into the form design. The schema is required to access the data in the form design during the creation of your process.
To create a data connection and embed a schema into a form design:
. The Open XML Schema File dialog box appears.Note: Select Palettes > Data View if the Data View palette is not visible.
You have imported and embedded a schema into your form design. The Data View palette should look like this illustration:
To add fields to the form design using a schema:Note: If the message stating "There is insufficient space on the form for the pasted content" appears, click OK and move the group of fields closer to the left border.
You have created a data connection based on an XML schema file and added multiple fields to your form design. Your form design should look like the following illustration.
