Assembling and Disassembling PDF Documents

This topic describes the process for assembling pages from existing PDF documents and the process for disassembling documents.

Note: If a PDF file contains invalid XMP metadata, the Assembler service throws an exception when processing that file. The error message will state that a "SyncMetadataTask task failed for document."

Such errors may have occurred because of the use of outdated software, such as old versions of Adobe Distiller® or Adobe FrameMaker®. Therefore, you can attempt to prevent such errors from occurring by regenerating the input PDF document using updated software.
