UIScrollBar component

The UIScrollBar component allows you to add a scroll bar to a text field. You can add a scroll bar to a text field while authoring, or at runtime with ActionScript.

The UIScrollBar component functions like any other scroll bar. It contains arrow buttons at either end and a scroll track and scroll box (thumb) in between. It can be attached to any edge of a text field and used both vertically and horizontally.

I see everything else in the Components panel except: UIScrollBar
component . Do I have a defected version of Flash MX Pro 2004
(Educational)?

Hi Connie,

It's not a defective version, just likely not the most recent version. You need to install the Flash 7.2 updater, which is when the ScrollBar component was included with Flash. It's available here: http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/downloads.html.

why can't i install the mxp file for the flash 7.2 updater in flash?
the mxp file is greyed out when i choose it to install.
i just want a scoll bar component!!!!
