Tutorial: Creating a Web Page

This tutorial will guide you through the basic tasks of designing and creating a web page with Macromedia Fireworks 8. You'll also learn to create interactive elements such as buttons, rollovers, and pop-up menus.

Before you begin, you must create a working folder. For instructions, see Create a working folder.

In this tutorial, you'll complete the following tasks:

View the completed web page
Open the source file
Import an image
Slice the document
Create a rollover
Create buttons for a navigation bar
Create and edit a pop-up menu
Optimize the document
Export HTML
Test the completed file

I really wanted to try this tutorial (I have done the previous 'Cafe Townsend' but I don't have the files needed. Can I get them from somewhere?

The path to the Global tutorial assets on your hard disk is as follows: C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Fireworks 8\Tutorial_assets\global\. On the Mac, it should be: /Applications/Macromedia Fireworks 8/Tutorial_assets/global/
