Wondering how to set up LR to do the following workflow -

When importing from a CF card (shot RAW+JPG) copy and import only the NEF files as DNG while backing up both the RAW+JPG to another location.

I can't seem to figure out how to copy the jpgs to the backup location without enabling the 'treat jpgs next to raw images as separate images" which copies them in to the catalog as well.

I am trying to backup a CF card (on import) that contains both RAW+JPG images.

Unless I have 'Treat jpgs next to Raw images as separate files" enabled, the backup process that you described does not copy the +JPG images to the backup location.

Problem is that I do not want the JPGS in the LR catalog, as I am importing as DNG and do not wish for the catalog to contain any JPGS, just DNG files.

What settings should be enabled/disabled so that from a CF card containing RAW+JPG images imports DNG files only from the RAW images, yet copies both RAW+JPG to my selected backup location?

I have a slightly different problem.
I have checked the "backup" button on and set an external drive location.
However, the expected backup never occurs, so I end up having to do a manual (windows, ughh!) copy of the files.

Anything I'm setting wrong, or any setting I'm forgetting?
