How do I set up a master page spread with different margins on the inside
and outside of each page?

Do you mean the Pages panel? It's possible that you dragged the separator bar to the top of the panel, which would hide the Master pages section. Try dragging the separator bar back down. If that doesn't work, contact customer support.Chris Krebs said on Nov 26, 2008 at 10:52 AM :
How do I get my master pages to appear in my "pages" dialogue box? OutChris Krebs said on Nov 26, 2008 at 1:22 PM :
of the options I see, ie. Apply masters, create new master, etc... I can't find a
way to make my master thumbs to show. In my pages dialogue box all I
have are the actual pages in my document, even though I've already created
Masters A through C. Help!!
Duh. Yeah I actually figured that out as soon as I finished posting the
comment. haha.
Another question: In the folio where I place my page number, what are the
keys to make the number change depending on what page you're on? In
Quark it was apple 3, but that's not working in InDesign.
thanks!

I'm not sure how to answer your question. I think you want to choose Layout > Numbering & Section Options. You may also want to go through a few getting started videos. Here's a list I compiled:
