An Adobe® Dreamweaver® CS3 site is a collection of all of the files and assets in your website. You can create web pages on your computer, upload them to a web server, and maintain the site by transferring updated files whenever you save them. You can also edit and maintain websites that were created without Dreamweaver.

You must export your site settings from MX and then import them into DW CS3. You can find instructions here:jakister said on Jun 26, 2007 at 11:10 AM :

I'm new to DW. I need to convert an existing site created with Frontpage 2000 into DW-CS3. Would appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction. Thanks.

I'm new to DW CS3 and Web design. I'm moving a web site from Fusion to DW. Where would I find the procedures to move it into DW?SonicSwap said on Jul 31, 2007 at 10:57 AM :
I am using a Mac for local development and have tomcat and apache
running locally. Dynamic content is served from the tomcat side (JSP
files). Static content like CSS, Flash, and Images is served from the
apache side out of the public_html directory.
When I set up the site in Dreamweaver it asked where the top level of the
site was located and I gave it the path to the JSP files. It set up the file
browser and found my site hierarchy just fine, but I don't know how to
have it find everything in the public_html directories. How do you set up a
site that has these two different paths to the web files/assets?

Interesting case. It's a hack but you can try setting up two sites. The local root of one would point to your local Tomcat path and the local root of the other site would point to your local Apache path. However, the Remote Info of both sites would point to the same place so that you can test or publish the site as a whole.

Also, Tomcat is really Apache with a JSP app server add-on. Any static files in the Tomcat doc root will be served by the built-in Apache server. So you can move your static files over to your Tomcat folder and have all your site in one place. No screen name said on Oct 8, 2007 at 10:47 AM :
Greetings -
Simple question from a beginner. Tutorials discuss how to insert images that already exist in a local folder. How does one build that local image folder? I.e., transfer photos from a file of photos and construct such a Dreamweaver image folder.
Thanks

You simply add a new folder to your Dreamweaver site and call it something like "images." The easiest way to do this is probably to select your site root folder in the Files panel, right-click the folder, and select New Folder.wb2940 said on Oct 21, 2007 at 7:49 PM :

I am not sure if Dreamweaver 4 supported exporting sites, but if it did, there should be help instructions on that feature. Search help for "export" or "exporting" and see what you come up with.wb2940 said on Oct 22, 2007 at 6:24 PM :

One of the engineers just informed me that the feature was not in 4, but there was an extension developed for it.No screen name said on Jan 14, 2008 at 6:35 PM :
