You can set word wrapping, display line numbers for the code, highlight invalid code, set syntax coloring for code elements, set indenting, and show hidden characters from the View > Code View Options menu.
Is there anyway to turn off the code wrap option globally? I know you were able to do this in DW 8, but I have not found a way to do so in CS3!

Wrapping is turned off by default for each new page, unless the wrapping preference is set otherwise in Edit > Preferences > Code Format. If wrapping was turned on for individual pages, you'll have to switch it off for each of those pages.CrookedGrin said on Dec 6, 2007 at 9:52 AM :
This is not true for me. In fact, even if I save a file with word-wrap turned off, every time I open it word wrap is turned on again automatically. Sounds like a bug to me.No screen name said on Feb 12, 2008 at 10:18 AM :

To change the font sizes in Dreamweaver:bobbyrhone said on Feb 28, 2008 at 5:25 PM :
1. Select Edit > preferences.
2. Select the Fonts category.
3. Change the font size for Code view by selecting the font size you want to use from the size pop-up menu (next to the Code view font menu).
Note that the font and font size can vary according to your encoding settings. That is, you can have a different font (or font size) for Unicode documents and Western European documents.
Turn off your code wrapping by opening the page, then go to View > Code View Options and uncheck Word Wrapisaac dealey said on Apr 7, 2008 at 12:27 PM :
having the same problem crookedgrin is having - can't get the word wrap to stay off -- it's disabled in the preferences, yet files open by default with it turned on -- I've never intentionally enabled it, just can't keep it offFlyguy1996 said on May 2, 2008 at 1:08 PM :
Same here. Word wrapping keeps turning on even though I disable it using the view menu for each page I'm working on. When I reopen the file word wrapping is on again. Very annoying. No screen name said on Jun 9, 2008 at 6:58 AM :
i can't turn off word wrap either, i don't have it enabled in preference, yet all files open in word wrapped mode.. bug?LoriHC (Dreamweaver Team) said on Jun 11, 2008 at 6:15 PM :
The Automatic wrapping preference under Code Format has nothing to do with Word Wrap. The former inserts linebreaks (\n, essentially) into your code, making it a "hard" wrap. Word Wrap is a "soft" wrap -- that is, it's visual only, based on the width of the window. The code itself is not altered. It's a per-document preference similar to the view (i.e., whatever view the very last document you closed was in -- Design, Code, or Split -- will be the view that Dreamweaver defaults to next time it launches). No screen name said on Jul 27, 2008 at 8:45 PM :
To turn Word Wrap off, open a single document in Code view, turn off Word Wrap in the View options menu (fourth icon to the right of the Title field in the Document toolbar), and then close that document. The next document you open will have word wrap turned off.
Word wrap always stays on for me too. It looks like this is a bizarre bug that only affects a few people. It doesn't seem related to the OS, as I've seen posts from people running XP Professional, which is what I'm running, who say it's not a problem for them. I really hope someone figures this out because it's driving me nuts.sd crab said on Oct 23, 2008 at 10:39 AM :
It was happening to me, too. I usually have a couple of files open in DW, and I have the 'Reopen documents on startup' option checked, so it would always reopen my files. I finally set each one to no word wrap, then closed them. I closed DW and reopened, and then when I opened other files, they now have the word wrap option turned off. I don't know if closing DW was necessary, but there you go, for anyone having the same problem.
