Using rulers and grids to lay out pages

Use rulers and grids as visual guides for drawing, positioning, or resizing elements in the Document window's Design view.

Rulers can appear on the left and top borders of the page, marked in pixels, inches, or centimeters.

You can make page elements automatically snap to the grid as you move them, and change the grid or control the snapping behavior by specifying grid settings. Snapping works whether or not the grid is visible.

To change ruler settings, do one of the following:

To show or hide the grid:

To enable or disable snapping:

To change grid settings:

  1. Select View > Grid > Grid Settings.

    The Grid Settings dialog box appears.



  2. Set options as desired.

  3. Click OK.
