Creating a site: workflow overview

The order of lessons in this guide follows one possible workflow for creating a site. When creating your own sites, you can follow whatever workflow is most comfortable for you.

To create a website:

  1. Plan and prepare, including setting up a Dreamweaver site (see Define a Dreamweaver site).
  2. Create pages, adjust their layout, and add content (see Tutorial: Creating a Static Page).
  3. Edit the code as needed (see Tutorial: Editing Code).
  4. Link pages together (see Tutorial: Linking and Previewing Pages).
  5. Preview and publish your site (see Preview pages in a browser and Define a remote folder).
  6. (Optional) Add dynamic pages that display information from databases (see Understanding Web Applications and Tutorial: Developing a Web Application).
