Apply a class style to text

Now that you've created a class rule, you'll apply it to some paragraph text.

  1. In the Document window, select the first four words of text in the first paragraph: Cafe Townsend's visionary chef.
  2. In the Property inspector (Window > Properties), select bold from the Styles pop-up menu.

The bold class style is applied to your text.

  3. Repeat step 2 to apply the bold class style to the first four words of the second paragraph.

  4. Save your page.

Make sure you complete step 6 on the previous page (http://livedocs.macromedia.com/dreamweaver/8/using/gs_06_c8.htm), especially the fourth bullet.

It is me or are you feeling like there is a great deal of preliminary work to set up style sheets, Rules and the what not! this is fine for following the lesson but it seem to me to slow down the creativity when all the fumbling of setting up styles to then choose ...then if not liked then, setting up more styles. Is there and easier way?

Dreamweaver CS3 now has pre-defined CSS layouts to get you started and that you can edit any way you like to meet your needs.
