Replace the image placeholder

  1. In Dreamweaver, open the index.html file that you created in Tutorial: Creating a Table-based Page Layout
  2. Double-click the image placeholder, banner_graphic, at the top of the page.

  3. In the Select Image Source dialog box, navigate to the images folder inside the cafe_townsend folder that you defined as your site root folder.
  4. Select the banner_graphic.jpg file and click OK.

Dreamweaver replaces the image placeholder with the banner graphic for Cafe Townsend.

  5. Click once outside the table to deselect the image.
  6. Save the page (File > Save).

When the banner graphic is placed the placeholder does not get replaced, the graphic is placed alongside it making the entire table wider. Why is this?

You must start the procedure by double-clicking the banner graphic placeholder as outlined in the instructions above. If the graphic is appearing next to the placeholder, it means that your insertion point was actually next to the placeholder when you started.
