Director Scripting Essentials

If you are new to scripting in Macromedia Director MX 2004, you may want to take some time to learn the basic scripting concepts that are essential to understanding how to script in Director before you begin. Some of these essentials include definitions of important terms, syntax rules, available data types, and information about the basic elements of scripting in Director--for example, variables, arrays, operators, and so on.

Fluff. Words, but no information. Neither beginners nor advanced users will learn anything from this page. And this is not the only instance of a fluffed page. Lingo only made it because it used to have very good documentation, with usable examples. What I've seen sofar seems to have been written by someone intent on producing wordcount, but with no idea of what his/her audience (beginners, intermediate and advanced) needs and expects.

From what I've seen so far...I must agree. The Help files are not very
helpful.
