Installing on BEA
WebLogic Server 7.0

Before you can use ColdFusion MX on BEA WebLogic Server 7.0, you must do the following steps:

1. Install the ColdFusion files.
2. Deploy the ColdFusion J2EE application.
3. Configure ColdFusion in the startup wizard.
4. Enable specific functionality required by ColdFusion applications, such as the Verity search engine.

This chapter describes these steps in detail. It also describes how to undeploy ColdFusion MX.

Note:   ColdFusion MX for J2EE also supports WebLogic 6.1. Check the Macromedia website at http://www.macromedia.com/go/cfmxj2ee-wl6 for information on using ColdFusion MXfor J2EE with WebLogic 6.1.

This chapter uses the following conventions:

• weblogic_root refers to the directory in which WebLogic is installed; for example, C:\bea in Windows, /usr/local/bea on Solaris, or /root/bea on Linux.
• wldomain_root refers to the base directory for the WebLogic domain that contains ColdFusion MX.
• cf_root refers to the directory to which ColdFusion MX is deployed; for example, wldomain_root/cfmx.
