Comment from carehart:
Why is URLEncodedFormat listed here as deprecated (for all attributes)? That's not really true, is it?

Macromedia Doc Update:
This page lists URLEncodedFormat as deprecated. This is a mistake. The function is still supported.

Deprecated, in this case, means they may remove support for it at any time in a later version. It's best not to use them, or if you upgrade the server later you may find something breaks.

Use at your own risk.

The above thread is confusing. Is URLEncodedFormat deprecated or not? Or in other words, if it is not to be supported in future versions, what will take the place of this function?

The URLEncodedFormat tag is NOT deprecated.
It is fully supported in both ColdFusion MX and ColdFusion MX 61.
