cfregistry

This tag is deprecated for the UNIX platform.

Reads, writes, and deletes keys and values in the system registry. Provides persistent storage of client variables.

Note: For this tag execute, it must be enabled in the ColdFusion Administrator. For more information, see Configuring and Administering ColdFusion MX.

The "Tag Restriction" page is not in CFMX 6.x Adminstrator - it was only in CF 5. To restrict this tag in CFMX use Sandbox Security.

It seems on CFMX for J2EE, if you manually add a key and then use cfregistry to read it, the variable scope does not exist for it untill the cf services are restarted.
