ColdFusion MX 6.1 also supports:
* RedHat Linux ES 2.1.
* RedHat Linux AS & ES 3.0 (Same caveat as RedHat Linux 7.3, 8.0, 9 - which is that Verity does not support these OSs).

Macromedia has created a hot fix for Verity to support additional versions of Linux. Verity is now supported with ColdFusion MX 6.1 on Red Hat 7.2, 7.3, 8, 9

Says: Apache web server 1.3.22-1.3.27, 2.0.43 or higher. Apache is currently 1.3.29 - is this an issue?
jrunrandy said on Jun 11, 2004 at 5:41 AM :
I haven't tried it but it shouldn't be an issue unless the magic number in the Apache headers changed (and if it did you will see an error in the Apache error log on startup).

Is it possible to install CFMX 6.1 with the OS SuSE Linux 9.2 or SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 ?
be_theweb said on Feb 23, 2005 at 2:04 AM :
It didn't work for me. Have installed CF - MX 7 on a Suse 9.2 Professional (AMD64 CPU) and the installation as such didn't produce any error.

But when trying to run CF (./coldfusion start) he was complaining about libc, libm and libcrypt file (no such file or directory), despite those files are present!!

Anyone any idea (path problem perhaps and how to solve it).
jrunrandy said on Feb 24, 2005 at 6:47 AM :
And just to be clear, SUSE 9.2 is not listed as a supported platform, so these errors are expected.

to be_theweb:

The fix is documented here
http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_18831

It is due to a hotfix that is no longer needed in today's suse versions

edit the bin/coldfusion script to comment the lines:

# if [ ! "$SUSEFLAG" ]; then
# LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.9
# export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL
# fi

(I also commented out the lines in the cfmx-connectors.sh)

Sadly, at the time of writing, I am stuck with:
Coldfusion MX 6.1
Suse 9.2 (stock install apache2.0.50)->Loadmodule fails with
/opt/coldfusionmx/runtime/lib/wsconfig/1/mod_jrun20.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Will try apache2.0.40 tomorrow, but not much hope here

Success!

I recompiled the connector by hand according to the instructions here:

http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_18748

Adapted to my SuSE 9.2 stock install:

export CFMX=/opt/coldfusionmx
/usr/sbin/apxs2 -c -Wc,-w -n jrun20 -S LIBEXECDIR=${CFMX_CONNECTOR} mod_jrun20.c \
jrun_maptable_impl.c jrun_property.c jrun_session.c platform.c \
jrun_mutex.c jrun_proxy.c jrun_ssl.c

/usr/sbin/apxs2 -i -n jrun20 -S LIBEXECDIR=${CFMX_CONNECTOR} mod_jrun20.la

strip $CFMX_CONNECTOR/mod_jrun20.so

(this overwrites the connector that failed to install at the first start...)

Cheers,

Hello, with your procedure on suse 9.2 to recompile the module, i have :

libtool: link: only absolute run-paths are allowed
apxs:Error: Command failed with rc=65536

Any idea ?
