About the ColdFusion MX Administrator

The ColdFusion MX Administrator provides a browser-based interface for managing your ColdFusion environment. You can configure many settings to provide optimal levels of security and functionality. The available options are based on your edition of ColdFusion: Standard or Enterprise, as well as your configuration: server or J2EE.

The default location for the ColdFusion MX Administrator login page is:

http://servername/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm

In the previous URL, servername is the fully qualified domain name of your web server. Common values for servername are localhost or 127.0.0.1 (each refers to the web server on the local computer).

If you are using the ColdFusion built-in web server, include the port number as part of the servername. The default port number is 8500. For example, http://servername:8500/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm.

If you are using the J2EE configuration, include the port number used the J2EE application server's web server. For example, http: //servername:8100/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm.

If your ColdFusion MX Administrator is on a remote computer, use the DNS name or IP address of the remote host.

To access the ColdFusion MX Administrator, enter the password specified when you installed ColdFusion MX.

I'm evaluating Cold Fusion developer edition and I want to specify a Remote IP address to test the work I've done on localhost - where can I do this?
halL said on Feb 11, 2004 at 6:18 AM :
ColdFusion automatically limits access to the developer edition to a single remote IP address.
You do not have to specify an address.

I had the same problems as above - the root user etc. now i can't find any
installed files to do with cold fusion. Also there seems to be no technotes
relating to installing cold fusion on a mac even though it is offered as a
download option.

I am interesting in finding out if anybody knows if there is a mac OS X version of cold fushion?

I looked on the site, but I don't see anything in which I can use cold fushion on the mac. I ask this as I will be taking a class in web programming this summer, and I am also about to get the G-4 laptop.

Thank you for any help that you might be able to give to me. Please e-mail me at:

You should take a look at the documentation at this location:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/coldfusion/j2ee/cfmxj2ee_home.html
It includes information about installing ColdFusion on various J2EE servers. I think you'll find it helpful.

I am using CFMX on Linux. I do not get a admin interface. When I enter the path I receive this
File not found: /CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm

How can I fix this or does this not exist on Linux?
CRJAngel said on Jul 13, 2004 at 7:43 AM :
Ok Is there known problems trying to install CFMX with php on the same server? Is that my problem?

I have tried a lot of times to install this with failure to configure web connector every time. at the cmd prompt they stiil fail to configure.

None of the problems listed are ocuring. Port 51010 is not blocked as a Tcp/IP port. and all web sites and servers are running. I am miffed .

I wish I could get this running.
