I have used Adobe Docs before and so I knew where to look for the "Show Navigation" however it is annoying to always have to click that and in general the way the documentation works is unfriendly as the previous poster has said.

Another example is the search. Type in "Document Class" which is one of the big new additions to AS3 and you get no results. A little bit more intelligence and tuning on the search please?

The LiveDocs are very unfriendly. I would like to access the ActionScript Specification as a PDF format single file so I can use it as reference while I work with Flash designs.

Sounds like you have the navigation frame hidden. Click on the "Show Navigation" icon in the upper-left-hand corner of the browser window. The navigation frame will then become visible on the left-hand side of the window.
