This example is wrong. You have to declare the comobobox variable at the class level as the TextBox and then add it to the container (w/ addChild method).

I'm trying to set the textFormat style on a comboBox. On this ComboBox page the setStyle( ) method is listed. When I click it, it brings me to the UIComponent page with a very simple example of setting the textFormat style for a Button. This works fine. But when I try the same thing with a ComboBox the changed textFormat does not show up. Oddly enough, when I use getStyle( ) it returns the new values for the textFormat. Also, if I set a timer, or use the ENTER_FRAME event and wait, then set the textFormat, it does set it correctly. I am wondering what is going on. I thought maybe I had to call invalidate( ), but that didn't work (and neither did draw( ) ). I would rather not call the timer if there is a more elegant way to do this.

Thanks,
Vinny
