"Could not use the red eye removal tool because the target channels do not cover the composite." That's the message I got when trying to use red eye removal on my pet pic. What does it mean, what am I doing wrong and what should I do? Thank you.

I made a red eye correction to a Canon G9 .jpg image and it looked great
until I opened the saved file again. The individuals left eye no longer had a
catch light. If I select the zoom tool and enlarge the area around that eye the
image looks fine and when I return the image to normal size the catch light is
there and the photo looks good. What's up? Is this problem the way I
removed the red eye or Canon's or Photoshop? I am using Photoshop
10.0.1 on a Mac tower.

For other posters: Hold down left click button on healing tool icon for a second, and all the options under it will show. Works with other icons too.

For Adobe: Putting "red eye" into help search (CS3 extended) yields no results (!). I am finding the help menu pretty mediocre overall. Just a heads-up.

I was amazed that so many people had the same problem that I did in trying to find the red eye tool! The key was to click the right mouse button on the very small triangle next to the Spot Healing Brush Tool. It seems like Adobe could have made this important tool easier to access.

In one case, switching to a different mouse allowed the user to view the additional tools, including the Red Eye tool. A tech note is currently being written. I'll post the link when it's available.

I have looked for some time now in frustration for the " red eye tool "
I have clicked on the incrediably small triangle in the Spot Healing Brush
Tool group & there is no " red eye tool " among the 21 options listed. The "
Help " section merely asks you to select the tool with no indication as to
where the tool resides. If it indeed is grouped with the Healing Brush
I have yet to find it in PS 3.

This can happen if Photoshop fails to auto-detect the red-eye.
