If you're asking how to find keyboard shortcuts for commands, here's the best way.

1. Choose Edit > Shortcuts.
2. Choose Type Menu from the Product Area pop-up list.
3. Scroll down to the "insert Break Character" commands, and select one. The shortcut is displayed in the Current Shortcuts box.

You can also click Show Set and print out a list of all the shortcuts.

are SHOWN as to WHERE they might BE!

Contrary to what is written here, the Column break and Frame break
keyboard shortcuts do indeed work in tables. See http://blog.gilbertconsulting.com/2008/04/page-breaks-in-tables.html for a

Discretionary line break will force a line break where the character is inserted but only if the line break is needed. This allows lines that are shorter than the column width to remain as a single line. But lines that are longer, will break where the discretionary line break is inserted.
This is very useful for preventing awkward breaks or hyphenations in long text strings such as URLs.
