Help, did anyone ever figure out how we can get the imageAlign.comp.htm and other files needed to complete the Dreamweaver MX tutorial on the web site? I have already purchased the 2004 version but want to do the MX version. I can't find the files under Getting Started folder either or anywhere on the web.

I have Fireworks MX 2004 And the tutorial says that i need the tutorial folder and i cant find it, I search it in all my computer and ther is no tutorial folder i searched also in the fireworks mx folder!

In Quick Site Setup, Define a Dreamweaver Site, under Copy the Sample Files, I'm having a problem that I think some of you are having: the tutorial (for DW MX 2004) says locate a folder called GettingStarted. But I'm certain it couldn't be the PDF folder. Because if your reading the tutorial you are reading the PDF folder also called Getting Started. But the GettingStarted folder we're looking for is, presumably, full of objects with which to build the sample website, Trio Motors, correct? The path given for finding it is: C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX 2004\Samples\ GettingStarted\. I simply can't find it. I can't even find a Sample folder in my downloaded trial version of DW MX 2004. Please help me someone.

Ahhh, I see the problem now. The tutorials Steve9zyx refers to above are for the previous version of Dreamweaver, "Dreamweaver MX". If you have the latest version of the product, "Dreamweaver MX 2004," then its tutorials are located at http://download.macromedia.com/pub/documentation/en/dreamweaver/mx2004/dw_getting_started.pdf (and in help). The tutorials and samples are not the same for the two versions, nor are the samples located in the same place in both.

I'm not sure where you got this pdf, but the tutorials we wrote for DW MX 2004 have no chapter 3 on image alignment and image maps. Please see the following pdf:

Either the pdf you have is from a previous version of DW or it's from a third party.

I am taking the dreamweaver pdf tutorial which was going real well until I got to chapter 3 Image Alignment and Image Maps Tuorial. It says to navigate to Tutorials/Completed and open image_aligncomp.htm. I can't find this file. Can anyone help me? I would greatly appreciate it. This is holding me up building my new site at www.wildrosepottery.net

Julez, the DW MX 2004 tutorials are part of the Getting Started guide and the pdf is located here:

The tutorial sample files are installed in a default location when you install DW MX 2004. Check the file path very carefully; the files are in a Sample folder, not a Tutorial folder.

The path for Windows is:
C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX 2004\Samples\ GettingStarted\

The path for Macintosh is:
/Applications/Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004/Samples/GettingStarted

Yes i am experiencing that problem too, I cannot understand where and how to get this tutorial folder. The only suggestion I am thinking is that I am using the wrong tutorial. This is the one I am using, and it is a PDF file, The Dreamweaver MX tutorials. If any one has any suggestions please reply to these comments.

I have Dreamweaver MX 2004. I have downloaded and printed out the Dreamweaver MX tutorial. When it comes time to use the Sample files, it asks for to copy the "Getting Started/Tutorial" directory to my Sites directory. There is no Tutorial Directory inside the Getting Started directory. Where can I get this directory so I can continue with the tutorial. Or - should I be using a different tutorial that goes with DreamWeaver MX 2004.
