I confirm the problem Murrah describes. If there is only cfmailpart type=text, this results in coldfusion 7 generating a second empty text type multipart which messes up some clients. This is probably a bug.

Content-Type: multipart/alternative;
boundary="----=_Part_1_21745132.1202868812046"
X-Mailer: ColdFusion MX Application Server

------=_Part_1_21745132.1202868812046
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

Thought you might like this website...
(your text)

------=_Part_1_21745132.1202868812046
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

------=_Part_1_21745132.1202868812046--

Just a quirk when viewing emails in Thunderbird (1.5.0.9).

If you only use cfmailpart type=text (ie dont include a cfmailpart type=html as well) the email appears blank when read. Viewing the message content shows that the content is in fact in the email but Thunderbird wont display it.

If you leave cfmailpart out all together, it displays the text.

If you use just type=html, or both type=html and type=text, it displays the text (as html).

So, if you dont want to send any html, leave the cfmailpart tag out all together !

I tested it with Outlook Express and it displays the message no matter what you do.

Murray

There's an extra > in the example: </cfmailpart>> should be </cfmailpart>
