This page completely neglects to mention the fact that the developer edition and at least one of the other editions are available for Mac OS X.

Good question. What CF checks is whether the document count in *all* collections exceeds the limit. That is, the limit is on the total number of documents indexed in all accessible collections.

When the documentation says "A 250K Verity document search", does that mean you can only *index* a total of 250K docs or only *search* 250K docs at a time? I.E. I have separate document and database collections that I search separately - can I index both collections if the total number of indexed docs in each is below 250K and search on them provided I search them separately?

Good catch. We removed the detailed system requirements from the book, but forgot that the installer refers to the book. The URL for MDAC is http://www.microsoft.com/data/download.htm. Click on Product and Update Downloads and scroll down to MDAC.

I tried installing CFMX 7 on my Windows2000 PC. I closed all running applications. I got stopped on the Pre-Installation Check page with "The Installer has found the following errors/warnings: Warning: MDAC components are not 2.6 sp2 or higher...For more information see the installation manual at http://www.macromedia.com/go/livedocs_cfmx7docs"<br />I went to that URL but did not find anything about MDAC components. I ended up in an endless loop on the website of a URL that refers to itself. You need to fix the website so it mentions this problem.
