I installed coldfusion MX 6.1 standalone ent version on my Windows 2000 server. When I go to select verity collections in the Coldfusion Administrator, I keep getting an error stating ' You must configure your application server to enable Verity. For
instructions, see "Configuring ColdFusion MX" in the "Installing
and Using ColdFusion MX" book for your application server.' I'm looking in the Docs and I do not see anything that is specific in how to enable Verity. Also I followed the instruction in the following link http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_19115 and I still did not have any success. Normally when I install Coldfusion on a server Verity is enabled and working by default. Any suggestions at this point would be helpful.

I am trying to install on a Windows XP server and the installer keeps saying to "PLease select another location to extract the installer to"

I have only one account which is administrator and I tried to choose a drive with over 15 GB free space but it says there's not enough room.

I also installed the latest Directx drivers with no luck.

...and why do they call it 'InstallAnywhere' if it don't install nowhere...

There is a slight difference in OS X's flavor of UNIX. There is a difference
between an "Admin" and a "Root" user. Apple did this to protect the
average Mac user (not a unix expert) from causing their computer to
explode (or something like that).

Here is a good link on how to enable the root user in OS X:

After installing Coldfusion, you should disable the root user to be on the
safe side (unless you are very comfortable in a UNIX environment).

If that article doesn't help or disappears over time just do a search for
"how to enable root user in OS X" and you should find plenty of info.

Yeah, I am getting the same login as root user message during

I'm having the same problem as a couple of earlier posters. The
CFMX6.1 installer does not recognize me as the admin, even though I
am logged in as the admin. Is it possilble that the installer is corrupted?
Do I need to download another copy of the installer?

JRun and ColdFusion are able to run on Macintosh OSX because of the underlying UNIX architecture. Every UNIX system has a root user/password and the root user typically has additional privileges.

Everybody is such a crybaby about the fonts. The fonts are fine. You can't please everybody with eyesight incapabilities and varying computer configurations.

CF installes windows services by default in auto start mode. Stop these services or / and set the manual mode for them.

When I installed CF MX6.1, unlike previous versions, it starts automatically at the start up of the PC, and there is no way to stop and restart it. Am I doing something wrong or this is the way it should be?

MOST web pages do not handle fonts correctly - either locking them to a specific pixel size or authoring specifically for IE which does not adhere to the standard - hence, most IE users browse the web with font-size set to 'smaller' rather than 'medium'

This font works fine, unless you use an out of the ordinary large monitor. For people who use those, there is an option to enlarge the fonts. (try scrolling your mouse wheel while holding the CTRL key).
What I'm trying to say is.... what is the problem?

The default font size of this page is too small. Why should someone have to change their text size in their browser for ONE page, when ALL others work fine?

You cna increase the font size by changing the browser Text size settings.
In IE, you select the text size in a list on the View/Text size menu.

Your font sizes are too small. Please make them more Section 508 compliant.
