Using a sprite Xtra extension

To add a sprite Xtra extension to your Authorware piece:

  1. Place the Paste Hand where you want to insert the sprite icon.

A sprite icon is a unique instance of a sprite Xtra extension object.

  2. Select an item from the sprite Xtra extension's submenu from the Insert menu.

When a sprite Xtra file is installed in the Xtras folder, its Xtra extensions appear under a submenu in the Authorware Insert menu. Each item in the submenu is unique to that sprite Xtra extension. For an example of how to set up a specific sprite Xtra extension, see Using an ActiveX control.

  3. Double-click the sprite icon.

    See Sprite Icon Properties.

  4. Click Options, and set up the sprite icon's events.

Certain sprite Xtra extension objects can send events to Authorware. An event response interaction can be set up to respond to events generated by Xtra extension objects like ActiveX controls. (For more information, see Setting up an event response.)
