Fixing broken library links

The following circumstances can break a link to a library:

• Authorware can't locate the library file an icon is linked to.
• You delete the library icon an icon is linked to.
• You change the link name of the library icon that the icon is linked to.

  Generally, you don't want to edit link names. If you choose to do so, Authorware asks you whether you want to reattach icons that were connected to that library icon. When you reattach icons, the link names are updated in the Get Info window for each of those icons.

When Authorware can't locate a library attached to the piece, a dialog box appears asking you to find the library. A broken link symbol appears on the flowline next to each icon that has a broken link.

Authorware won't open icons that have broken links; you must relink them.

To fix a broken link:

1. Drag the flowline icon on top of the library icon you want to link it to, or drag the library icon onto the flowline icon.
2. Release the mouse button when the icon is highlighted.

   The objects are linked and the broken link symbol disappears.
