Working with large libraries can pose problems of organization and identification. Authorware can help by locating which library icon an icon on the flowline is linked to, listing which icons in a library are linked to the current piece, and listing which links between the flowline and the library are broken or unbroken.
You can give a different title to an icon on the flowline and the library icon it is linked to. They are still linked and still share the same content.
When you cut, copy, or paste a linked icon, the icon retains its links. Icons that are linked to libraries can't be pasted into library windows.
Locating the library of a linked icon on the flowline
To search for a library:
Select the icon on the flowline.
Select Modify > Icon > Library Links.
Click Find Original.
The library window that contains the linked library icon comes to the front, with the linked icon selected.
Listing a library's linked icons
To list linked icons:
Select an icon in the Library window.
Select Modify > Icon > Library Links.
Authorware displays the list of icons in the flowline that are linked to the icon in the library.
Listing icons that have unbroken and broken links
To list icons by broken or unbroken links:
Select Xtras > Library Links, and select one of the following options:
Select Unbroken Links to list icons that are still linked.
Select Broken Links to list icons that have become unlinked.
