Media synchronization

If you place an icon to the right of a sound or movie icon, it becomes a child icon of the sound or movie icon. You can set child icons to trigger based on the media position or number of elapsed seconds from when the media starts playing.

Note: Because sound and movie icons are branching icons themselves, they cannot be direct children of interaction, decision, framework, or other movie or sound icons unless you place them in map icons first.

To synchronize media:

  1. Drag a sound or movie icon from the Icon palette to the flowline.
  2. Drag another icon, such as a display icon, to the right of the sound or movie icon.

When you drag an icon to the right of the sound or movie icon, a synchronization property icon is displayed. It looks like a clock.

The timing for the movie or sound icon is changed from perpetual to concurrent when the child icon is added.

  3. Double-click the synchronization icon to display the Media Synchronization dialog box.

  4. In the Synchronize on section, select one of the following:
  5. In the Erase Contents section, select the erase option you want to use.
  6. Click Open if you want to display and edit the Presentation window for the icon.
  7. Click OK to save the property changes.
