Before you start to work on your own Authorware file, view the final version of the tutorial to see how your completed file should appear.
If a message appears warning that the file is locked, click OK.
The Presentation window appears, which displays the piece. The Design window, which might be partially obscured by the Presentation window, displays the flowline for Camera6.a7p. The flowline includes several different types of icons, which you'll learn more about as you complete this tutorial.
When you play a piece, you can use the controls in the Presentation window just as your user would.
The items on the introductory screen fade away and the Main Menu for the piece appears.
Icons can contain content or other icons. You create an application in Authorware by dragging icons from the Icon palette onto the flowline. The order in which you place icons on the flowline corresponds to the order of events that take place when a user runs the application.
Some icons, like the design icon, require content such as graphics. Others, like the navigation icon, require you to specify certain settings. If, during playback, Authorware comes to an icon that requires additional specifications, the piece pauses and a Properties inspector or dialog box for that icon appears. Once you specify the settings, the piece resumes playing.
